Thuasne finger support strips
Thuasne finger support bands provide flexible support for the long fingers of the hand following trauma: sprain, dislocation or non-displaced fracture of the phalanges. Unlike a splint, these finger support bands allow the joints to remain mobile because they are placed over the phalanges. An interdigital separation prevents friction between the fingers. Finger support bands can be tightened according to body shape and the need for immobilisation. They are designed for everyday activities and for resuming sports after a finger injury (particularly team sports with a ball, such as volleyball or basketball).
Mode of action
Indications
Simple use :
Immobilise the affected finger with the adjacent finger that causes the least discomfort for everyday movements. Fix the bands to the phalanges, avoiding the joints to maintain their mobility. The strips can be cut to size to adapt their height. Check that the flexion and extension of the fingers is maintained and that the bands are not too tight for blood circulation.
Installation is illustrated in the instructions for use.
