DESCRIPTION

Glycerine suppository. This medicine is used in certain cases of constipation and as a preparation for endoscopic examinations of the rectum.

Precautions for use :

• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• This medicine must be kept away from heat.
• Read the leaflet carefully before use.

Take care :

• If you have an intestinal disease called haemorrhagic rectocolitis;
• If you have pain in your anus (anal fissure, haemorrhoidal crisis).

In these situations, it is preferable to avoid using this medicine.

Contraindications :

Allergy (hypersensitivity) to glycerol or any of the other ingredients.

USE ADVICE

Administer rectally. The suppository can be soaked in cold water to make it easier to insert.

The usual dose is 1 suppository 5 to 30 minutes before your bowel movement, repeated once in the next half-hour if you are still constipated.

On average, constipation treatment should not exceed 10 days.
