Boa® stabilising ankle brace Thuasne sport

The Boa® Thuasne sport ankle brace helps stabilise the ankle in cases of moderate to severe sprains or tendinopathy. It is designed to prevent ankle instability when returning to sport (basketball, handball, volleyball, etc.). This rigid sports ankle brace is made up of a textile part that hugs the ankle, removable lateral reinforcements to stiffen the brace and two elastic straps that reinforce the support. The Boa® Fit System tightening system ensures quick and reliable fitting. The ankle support is slim and fits inside a closed shoe.

• Prevention of chronic ankle laxity/instability when resuming sporting activity

• Conservative treatment of Achilles tendon injuries

Simple to use

Slide the foot into the ankle brace, making sure the heel rests on the area provided. Tighten with the Boa® tightening system: press the knob until it ‘clicks’, then turn it clockwise until it is secure enough. Cross the straps over the foot, around the ankle and cross them again behind the ankle before fastening. To loosen the system: pull the knob until it clicks to release the laces. It is recommended that the product be worn in closed sports shoes when practising sport, and at night as protection to limit and avoid sudden movements.

Sizes

Available in 3 sizes: S, M and L. Choose the ankle brace that's right for your ankle circumference using our size guide.

Measurement: circumference of the ankle, above the malleolus.

If you are between two sizes, we advise you to take the larger size.

To be effective, the ankle support must stick to the skin.

Bilateral product: The ankle brace fits both ankles.

Additional information

Composition : polyamide, polyester, neoprene, elastane, polyurethane, stainless steel.

Care : machine wash at 40°C

Be sure to remove the side frames before washing.

Replace in original position before next use.

Close the hook-and-loop fasteners and tighten the brace (Boa® Fit System) before washing and, if possible, use a washing net.

Air dry, away from sources of heat.

For reasons of hygiene and performance, do not reuse the device for another patient.

Check the condition of the affected limb daily (paying particular attention to patients with sensory deficits).

For reasons of hygiene, safety and performance, do not re-use the device for another patient.

Do not use the device if certain products are applied to the skin (creams, ointments, oils, gels, patches, etc.).

If the device is worn for long periods, ensure that blood circulation is not impaired.

Contraindications

Do not place the product in direct contact with damaged skin or an open wound without a suitable dressing.

Do not use in the event of a known allergy to one of the ingredients.

History of venous or lymphatic disorders.
